Hello, I’m Dave Carter; that’s me just to the right. That’s actually a really dreadful photograph but I suppose it’ll have to do until I find something better.
If you’re here it means that either
- You’re lost on the internet. Here, Google will get you back on track.
- You’ve (for some reason) decided that you wanted to intentionally visit.
If it’s the latter then here’s a little bit of background about who I actually am.
I’m currently 29 years old, turning the big 30 in May 2015. I only have one item on my bucket list, and that is to add more items to my bucket list. I’ve been too busy actually doing stuff to concentrate on making a list of stuff I want to do. Although I should probably get around to a list, it’ll be helpful.
What do you do?
Work wise, I’m in to a bit of everything. I’m a radio presenter, I also work in web/software engineering. Yeah, they are at opposite ends of the spectrum but then again I suppose I’ve never really been conventional.
Radio is something very special to me and has been since I was a little kid. I built a radio transmitter at 11 years old which could be heard all the way to Scott’s house! (nb. Scott was my childhood friend, he lived exactly 10 doors away). I was bitten by the bug and ended up in Internet radio which was largely successful; in fact it was that successful that in one month of broadcasting I had racked up a $1900 bandwidth bill from my server provider. Whooops!
After deciding that internet broadcasting was expensive and I’d be damned if I was paying that much money to play music and talk in between; I thought it would be time to get paid for doing radio. So I joined up with my best buddy Lex and we went to work on KCR FM in Liverpool. Eventually, we moved on to Juice FM (also in Liverpool) where we presented cover shows mainly. Since then, we’ve been flittering around the radio dial and now, along with Hayley, we reside on Chorley FM every Sunday morning from 9am.
What are you into?
Now there’s a big list. I’m not going to bore you to death with the ins and outs of what I like and dislike so I’ll just summarise them here in a lovely list so you can click through and find more info if you so desire.
- Web stuff
- DJing, Music production and er, music.
Spare time activities?
When I get some spare time which, unfortunately is quite rare nowadays, I love going to the beach, cooking, last minute holidays to somewhere random just for the sake of it, and spending as much time as I can with my friends (left). I love my friends to bits; I’ve picked a good bunch and they mean the world to me! Recently went with Lex to Amsterdam for a last minute “Let’s just do it” kinda holiday. There’s actually a lot more to the story than that which I’ll expand on later in a different post…maybe.
Random facts about you?
- I’m not convinced I’ve learned how to read, I’ve just memorised a lot of words.
- I sometimes “air dj” to a good track; It’s like air guitar, only you fiddle with an imaginary crossfader.
- I’m a “heart on my sleeve” kinda guy and I’m actually a bit of a romantic.
- I’ve only ever been on 3 dates! Dates are crap! Being friends with someone first is so much better.
- I used to volunteer as a lifeboat crewman.
Is that all?
